”About drawing Maiko”

In Kyoto, there is the traditional reception culture which “Maiko” and “Geiko” are active. We can see them in several cities in Japan.

Maiko’s kimono wear, Japanese coiffure, dance, songs, Japanese style rooms, and paintings are some of the activities and culture you see in these scenes. These are all parts of the aggregation of the traditional Japanese culture. They are splendid, refined and disciplined, and it is the very attractive world.

I’ve been drawing this world from 2010.
